As a non-Turkish Cypriot buyer, you (or your authorised representative(s)) will be required to provide Provide details of any criminal convictions/cautions/charges in order for your purchase permit application to be processed. This applies to the person(s) in whose name the application for a Purchase Permit is to be made, i.e. each applicant must provide a Basic Disclosure Certificate.
1. you should check with the local police authority or consulate in your country of origin on how to obtain this information. If this information is provided by the relevant authorities in a language other than Turkish or English, you must have it translated into either Turkish or English and have the translation duly certified by a notary public. You must send us the original document in the original language along with the certified translation.
For UK residents, the application can usually be made online by visiting www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
2. If you are resident in a country you are not from, you must make your application to the relevant authority in your country of origin. For example, if you were born in the UK, you must apply for your certificate to the authorities in the UK, regardless of which country you reside in. If you do not have an address in the UK, you should proceed as follows: When you complete the Basic Disclosure form and are asked for your “current address”, give “c/o” and an address in the UK to which Disclosure Scotland can send any correspondence and your completed certificate. Backdate this address by one year and then enter your full five year address history, starting from where you now live. (Note: Disclosure Scotland still needs to know about your addresses, even if they were abroad).
You still need to send Disclosure Scotland the necessary authentication documents. You can send these by fax, email or post as described on the Disclosure Scotland website.
If you are unable to provide a c/o address in the UK, complete the form and provide your current overseas address.
Disclosure Scotland will then send you the paper application(s) and guide.
Once you have received your Disclosure Certificate, you must forward the ORIGINAL by registered post to our frm address.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN YOUR PURCHASE PERMIT APPLICATION NOT BEING SUBMITTED WHICH MEANS YOU WILL NOT GET A TITLE DEED FOR YOUR PROPERTY.
